Training (International)

Remit: To provide resources and training on both the technical skills and managerial skills relating to all aspects of vEM.

Sample Preparation (International)

Remit: Curation of sample preparation resources for the vEM community, including a protocol library that encompasses preparation steps through to imaging, with a focus on discussion and dissemination of knowledge around why each step is done, health and safety information, and annotations to indicate options and when they might be useful.

vEM CONECT (International)

Remit: This working group is dedicated to connecting and empowering the global community of volume electron microscopy (vEM) across research, industry, and related fields. It actively fosters collaboration, education, and engagement among stakeholders—including scientists, engineers, software developers, funders, and the public—to drive advancements and elevate awareness of vEM.​

Data (International) 

Remit:
​1) Storage, transfer, metadata, analysis tools, archiving.
2) Long-term scope and short-term actions to be discussed.

Industry Partner (International)

Remit: We will create equal opportunities for information transfer and involvement between the vEM Community and Industry Partners with the goal of reducing barriers to access, building and sustaining the community.

Sunsetted Working Groups

Community WG (International)

Remit: This international working group aims to connect and develop a community of all those practically involved in vEM techniques, across sample preparation, ancillary techniques e.g. x-ray, CLEM, and includes researchers, microscopists, data scientists, and industry partners.​

Infrastructure (UK Focused)

Remit: Define, seek funding for, build and run a coordinated accessible infrastructure for vEM to meet the needs of the UK bioscience research community.

Outreach WG (International)

Remit: We aim to perform outreach to the wider international biomedical science community in the form of: 
1) Education about the various vEM techniques.
2) Engagement of stakeholders including end users, engineers, software developers, funders and the public.
